At this time, we are looking for individuals passionate about ending homelessness with particular expertise in fundraising, policy/ advocacy, employment law, local/ state government, and communications and marketing.

All those interested, regardless of skill set, are welcome to apply. Those who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and/ or who have lived experience of homelessness are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Brenda Vasquez (she/her), President

    Brenda, along with her family, has been volunteering with the Delores Project since 2008. She is recently retired.  Previously the Manager of Volunteer Services, Family and Community Engagement, at Denver Public Schools. She has over 25 years of professional volunteer management experience, including leading volunteer engagement while working at Denver Health, University Hospital, and The Adult Learning Source. During her professional career, she has volunteered with a number of community non-profits. This has given her the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors with several organizations: Clinica Tepeyac, a non-profit healthcare clinic, Denver Health Foundation, and Director of Volunteers in Agencies (DOVIA). She has also served on several advisory committees: DPS Career Education Center Middle College, 9 Health Fair, Denver Employees Combined Campaign and the Advisory Chair, VOA Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and the Colorado Association of Partners in Education. Ms. Vasquez has received multiple awards for community service, including the Colorado Rapid Hispanics in Philanthropy Award and the VOA, RSVP Volunteer Coordinator of the Year, and Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award. She graduated from North High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the University of Colorado at Denver where she served on the CU-Denver Alumni Board of Directors. Continuing her education, she would earn her Masters in Nonprofit Management from Regis University. She is a native of Denver and married with two children, Marisol and Luis, who are both DPS Alumni.

  • Kirsty Greer (she/her), Treasurer & President-Elect

    Kirsty has been volunteering with the Delores Project in various capacities since 2018. She has dedicated time and energy to the Delores Project enthusiastically over the years because of its kindness, longstanding commitment, and care in the provision of shelter and resources to those experiencing housing instability. She has learned so much and continues to learn from the guests and staff of the Delores Project. Kirsty has spent her career in housing development in New York, California, and Colorado. She is a Denver resident and volunteers her time and experience in real estate and housing to a number of exceptional local community-building nonprofits, including the Delores Project.

  • Donna Goldin Evans (she/her), Secretary at Large

    After twenty-five years in the health insurance industry, with deep experience in healthcare operations, medical management, network development, actuarial and analytics, Donna co-founded ValueIQ, a healthcare consulting firm working with integrated health systems across the country, with a particular focus on value-based healthcare.  She also co-founded and serves as the CEO of Tellus Wellness, a complementary medicine company. In her community, Donna serves on the boards of Firefly Autism, The Delores Project and the National Advisory Group of MindSpark.

  • Nevine Nagji (she/her), Governance Committee Chair

    Nevine began her career in social work but has spent the last two decades working in human resources in the aviation industry and the energy sector, both in North America and internationally. She has a natural curiosity to understand what makes people do the things they do, how connection and diversity influence organizational performance and interpersonal relationships, and how she can help change, small or big. Living and working in different parts of the world has given her a lot of perspective on these questions. Nevine tries hard to approach life and work in the spirit of ethics, generosity, and compassion – values instilled in her by her family and community. She enjoys walking, exploring new places, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She loves feeling inspired by the people around her and is a bit in love with her dog, Chai.

  • Karla Kimrey (she/her), Member at Large

    Karla Kimrey, a Colorado native and Denver resident, is recently retired. Her background includes extensive investor relations experience with six public companies, with in-depth knowledge of institutional investors, traders, public companies and financial markets.

    Ms. Kimrey has worked across a wide range of industries as well as a wide range of not-for-profit volunteer work.  She has in-depth experience successfully working with boards to further the strategy and goals of the organization.

    Ms. Kimrey has served on the board of the American Lung Association of Colorado as well as numerous boards of professional organizations.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Finance degree from the University of Colorado.

  • Terwanda McMoore (All Pronouns), Member at Large

    Terwanda is an Alaskan native whose journey has taken them to various places before settling in Denver, where they have lived for the past eight years. As a passionate community builder, Terwanda is the founder of Love Vibes Presents, an organization dedicated to producing events that uplift and celebrate the Queer community. They also serve on the board of the nonprofit Sacred Voices and lead stargazing workshops for queer youth through CampSeen. Throughout their work, Terwanda remains deeply committed to helping others find their voice, live authentically, and feel a true sense of belonging.

  • Christine Ranney (she/her), Member at Large

    Christine is originally from San Francisco, and has lived in Denver since 2016.  She is a partner at the law firm Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, where her practice focuses on high-stakes patent litigation and appeals.  Christine has a robust pro bono practice, particularly in the immigration space, where she helps her clients seek work authorization, asylum, and green cards.  Outside of the firm, Christine has been active in supporting the migrant community, supporting several migrant families in their transition to America by helping them with housing, food, healthcare, transportation, and miscellaneous issues that arise when settling in a new country.

    Christine is a mom to a four-year-old and a one-year-old.  As a woman with two young children in the traditionally male-dominated field of patent litigation, Christine has been a role model both for other women and parents in at her firm.  Christine is incredibly excited and grateful to have the opportunity to serve on the Board of The Delores Project.

  • Erika Strong (they/she)

    Erika is a facilitator, strategist, and equity practitioner with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations transform from the inside out. As lead facilitator at Weav Studio and an affiliate of the Interaction Institute for Social Change, Erika supports teams in reimagining how they work together by crafting strategies and systems that foster relationships, equity, and cooperation. Their approach weaves together community-based research, organizational design, and anti-racist practice, grounded in an Indigenous and systemic understanding of the forces that shape our institutions.

    Nationally recognized as a skilled trainer and facilitator, Erika has led efforts in campaign strategy, fundraising, and team development for economic and racial justice, restorative justice, and coalition building. They are a certified coach for healing justice and liberation, and a proud auntie, queer, culinary artist, birder, land steward, and lifelong musician. An enrolled member of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska, Erika holds an M.P.H. in Community-Oriented Public Health Practice, a B.A. in Anthropology, and a B.S. in Public Health from the University of Washington.

  • Nate West (he/him)

    Nate West is a seasoned regional executive with a passion for mission-driven leadership and community involvement. As South Regional Manager at Credit Union of Colorado, he leads multi-branch operations with a focus on people, strategic growth, team development, and operational efficiencies. His leadership style emphasizes relationship building, collaboration, and accountability.

    Since 1934, Credit Union of Colorado has been a trusted resource for members across the state. Nate is proud to contribute to its enduring mission, which is rooted in the “Three E’s”: Equity, Education, and Environment. These pillars reflect the organization’s commitment to making a lasting impact in the communities it serves—an ethos he carries into every aspect of his professional and volunteer work.

    Nate had the pleasure of volunteering at The Delores Project, where he was deeply inspired by its mission and the meaningful work being done. That experience sparked a strong desire to contribute even more. He is truly grateful for the opportunity to continue serving in a greater capacity as a Board member.

    Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Nate has called Colorado home since 1989. He is a proud father of three and grandfather of four and brings a deep personal commitment to community-building and youth development. Outside of work, Nate’s greatest passion is coaching athletics, where he mentors young people and fosters teamwork, discipline, and confidence.

  • Suzanne Wheeler (she/her), Member at Large

    Suzanne brings over 30 years of experience in the technology industry, with a focus on serving government, education, and public sector organizations. Her work has centered around leveraging technology and AI solutions to enhance service delivery for citizens and communities. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with a minor in Economics from Regis University in Denver.

    Having grown up in Denver as one of ten children in a military family, Suzanne’s lifelong commitment to service is deeply rooted in her upbringing. She has served in various volunteer and support roles at The Delores Project since 2018.  Her passion for humanitarian work extends beyond the local community—she has participated in eight trips to the Dominican Republic to support orphans and children living in poverty.

    In addition to her professional and nonprofit experience, Suzanne has served on a Homeowners Association board and an IT Industry Advisory Board for the Colorado Community College System. She has one daughter who is a certified sommelier based in Los Angeles.

    Suzanne is honored to bring her experience, compassion, and leadership to the board in support of advancing the mission to serve individuals experiencing homelessness with dignity and care.
